The internet is a double edged sword. On one hand, it sometimes makes you unproductive by keeping you away from your “real life” by showing you its seemingly limitless allure of social media, games, music, videos, and Emily Browning pictures.
Fortunately, the good side of the internet shows you things you can do, or web services where you can actually start to make small, positive changes in your life.
One such web service is Daily Challenge by MeYou Health. Daily Challenge promotes everyday well-being by suggesting small, positive activities that poses as simple challenges sent to you every morning.
These challenges affect the different facets of one’s life, like one’s emotional health, physical health, work environment, or stress relief. The challenges are presented every morning with tips on how to accomplish it and why it is important for your well-being.
The service connects to your Facebook account and, after you finish the challenge, lets you share your experience with your friends. The service also lets you earn points, collect stamps and achieve new levels (if, you know, being a better person is not enough motivation for you).
Upon registration, the service allows you to take an optional test to assess the current state of your life. You can also see how other people finished their challenge, and lets you comment and “smile” (a.k.a. “like”) on what they posted.
The only problem I see is that one needs to have a Facebook account to login to the service. It’s not actually a problem since most of us have a Facebook account, but it would be a hassle for those who don’t. Also, this service would be a much more enjoyable experience if it goes mobile although the developers said they are currently working on apps for IOS and Android.
Overall, the interface of Daily Challenge is very nice, and the idea is very uplifting and unique. People there are also very friendly with very positive attitudes (with random people “smiling” at my comment five minutes after posting it). So if you’re looking to be a better version of yourself, Daily Challenge is a great way to start making those little positive changes that would hopefully lead to bigger and better things in your life.
