Rain, Flood, and Incompetence

Right now, the country is being bombarded by one of the worst typhoons in recent memory. Typhoon Ondoy has laid waste to 25 provinces, prompting President Arroyo to declare them under state of calamity. Moreover, several cities in and out of the metro are still in deep floods and are impassable to traffic, stopping business and stranding commuters in the process.

First Week

After weeks (or is it months?) of complaining and waiting for some kind of sign, I was finally accepted as a volunteer nurse in a nearby hospital. Yes, a volunteer nurse. Meaning there’s no compensation whatsoever. You only gain experience, much like those in role-playing games.

I’m not complaining too much though, “working” in the hospital is the first time I actually used what I learned in school in real life. I mean, I studied Economics before just to end up in a call center job. Yes, let’s say that I used to earn a lot before; but this gives me a certain kind of happies I can’t explain.

My Messed Up Body Clock

It’s almost three in the morning and I’m still awake. But unlike previous all-nighters, this isn’t caused by my insomnia but my need to be awake by 10pm later. See, I’m coming from an 8am-5pm shift then a radical change to 10pm-6am the following day. Fantastic.

While I try to find something to amuse myself, try to decide if this is a video of the world’s worst laugh or of a guy inhabited by the demon Lamia in Drag Me to Hell.

Let me show you some Filipino Music Videos that didn’t go with the norm and developed a unique style of their own:

My Blog-Blog

So, after several attempts to write a decent blog, I ended up in WordPress. With my old banner in place (which shows my total lack of Photoshop and CSS skills), and a clean slate, I’ll try not to dumb readers out too much with my uninspired entries about music, movies, tv, books, the internet, and my shenanigans.

I suck at writing introductions so I might as well skip writing this one.

Let’s get this show on the road.
